This is an Airtable.
But it’s not just any Airtable.
It’s my personal swipe file, where I store every single screenshot (or IRL photo) of copy that made me smile, snort, or grimly say, “Damn. That’s pretty good.”
Comedypedia is searchable and sortable by:
Style of humor: including wholesome and goofy (where most online brands live), highbrow and intellectual, lowbrow and crass, dark and morbid, and absurd/surreal
Type of copy: including email opt-ins, product pages, websites and landing pages, social media posts and ads, CTAs, transactional and microcopy, and more
Plus, many entries include short notes on why I like the copy. (Some of the notes are just gleeful squealing. You’ll see why.)
As of fall 2024, Comedypedia has 330+ swipes to gaze at lovingly. I tend to add between 3-5 entries/week.

Hi! I’m Lianna Patch. I write funny conversion copy for ecommerce and SaaS, and speak regularly — from leading interactive, all-day team workshops to giving bigass keynotes to emceeing multi-day events.
For years, I’ve taken screenshots and photos of funny copy as I came across it.
Then I started tagging and sorting those screenshots, photos, and links.
THEN I realized… I gotta share this. It’s pretty damn cool.
